The Gig

Work on the Data Platform team as Senior Software Engineer to design and construct performant infrastructure to produce and consume contact-centric data for our identity resolution databases. All numbers are in the billions and trillions, and the tech is hot off the press.

The Data Platform team is primarily focused on enabling internal and external customers to gain access to our various sources of data. This involves integrating with external APIs and data sets, creating coherent representations of the data and then providing access for our customers, both internal and external. The team works on both live streaming and batch systems so that we can be the best in class for contact management and leverages machine learning.

Responsibilities

  • Effectively and efficiently lead a small group from design to production
  • Build scalable, distributed systems which are capable of 1000’s of requests per second
  • Capability and willingness to own a problem end to end
  • Readily embrace teamwork and works with others to produce industrial strength code
  • Account for quality and security as you build
  • Move fast without compromising quality
  • Use heuristic and machine learning algorithms to improve our data flows
  • Work with Product management on understanding and implementing feature requests
  • Ability and desire to help mentor junior members

Must Haves

  • 7+ years experience as a developer
  • 4+ on Java and JVM
  • You have a solid mathematical foundation - algorithms and machine learning
  • Strong work ethic
  • Solid foundation of working and building APIs
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with a variety of databases  (SQL, NoSQL, Redis, etc)
  • Incessant yearning to learn and improve yourself and the building blocks of systems
  • Experience running high volume services and distributed systems
  • Experience on horizontally scalable microservices - Service Oriented Architectures (SOA)
  • Deploying software in the cloud (AWS is our cloud)
  • Git familiarity
  • Solid Linux foundation - CLI tools, scripting
  • Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
